Claire Turnham MBE
Victim of Viagogo (UK)
Since inadvertently buying a ticket on Viagogo in early 2017, Claire set up the Facebook group Victim of Viagogo voluntarily to support others. She has passionately driven the global cause forward over social media and guided thousands of ripped -off fans to reclaim over £1million in refunds.
Known as the trusted consumer voice, Claire has been honoured by Amnesty International, received an MBE and become an award-winning campaigner for fairer, safer and clearer ticketing practice. She has communicated with both political and media audiences, collaborated with industry leaders and given evidence at the culture media and sport inquiry on ticket abuse.
Most importantly Claire has helped distressed people in need.
In July 2017 Claire joined forces with Fan-fair Alliance to publish a free self help refund guide and began working alongside Ed Sheeran's team
As part of a consistent and well communicated strategy Claire’s presence on the UK18 stadium tour was a game changer. At Victim of Viagogo ticket office booths she welcomed fans at each of Ed's eighteen shows, stamped thousands of tickets invalid and advised how to claim a refund.
Following Ed’s tour, Claire traveled to New Zealand to advise NZ Rugby with the sale of their All Blacks tickets and shared her knowledge with key players in sports, music, entertainment and theatre. Most recently she has been invited to support Welsh rugby fans in Cardiff with Six Nations tickets bought from Viagogo.
Going forward Claire is teaming up with ethical ticketing pioneer, Dave Newton to launch Only With Trust - an exemplary fan care service for live events. Together they are committed to add value and will work hand in hand with artists, managers, promoters and venues to benefit fans and enhance these relationships. Ultimately as a sustainable social enterprise, Only With Trust will reinvest all profits back into the music community through chosen charities and by awarding grants.
